Our Parent Visa Services
The parent migration program allows Australian citizens, permanent residents, and eligible New Zealand citizens to sponsor their parents to migrate to Australia.
To be eligible for this visa, you must be the parent of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. Additionally, you must meet the balance of family test, which requires you to have an equal or greater number of children living permanently in Australia than in any other country.
Your child, who must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, will sponsor you. They must have lived in Australia for at least two years. Additionally, you will need an assurance to provide assurance of support.
There are three types of visas available under the permanent Parent visa category. Learn more below.
Aged Parent
Parents who have reached the Australian pension age may qualify to apply both within Australia and from overseas. Meeting the balance of family test, securing sponsorship, and obtaining assurance of support remain essential requirements for eligibility.

Contributory Parent
Parents and Aged Parents eligible for a Parent visa may apply for the Contributory Parent Visa if they are willing to contribute to their health costs in Australia. Sponsorship and assurance of support are still required.
For those seeking a temporary option, a two-year temporary Contributory Parent Visa is available, allowing applicants to pay half of the costs upfront and the remainder within the 2-year period to attain permanent residency.
While Parent and Aged Parent applicants do not face the same health charge as Contributory Parents, visa availability may be limited, potentially resulting in longer wait times for approval.
Alternative temporary stay options are also available for parents wishing to remain in Australia.
