Partner Visa Services
Partner migration allows Australians, permanent residents, and eligible New Zealand citizens to bring their partner (spouse, fiancé, de facto, or interdependent partner) to live in Australia.
To qualify for a Partner visa, you need to be married, engaged, or in a de facto or interdependent relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. Your relationship must be genuine and ongoing, with a mutual commitment to sharing your life together.
Various factors, such as financial commitment, social acceptance, emotional support, and your roles in the household, are considered to prove the authenticity of your relationship.
There are two types of visas available in the Partner visa category.
Spouse / De facto Visa
At Opal Migration Australia, we understand the importance of uniting families and loved ones. Whether you're applying for a spouse/de facto visa, we recognise the significance of bringing partners together and facilitating their journey towards residency.
To be eligible for a spouse/de facto visa, you must be legally married to or in a de facto relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. For a de facto relationship, you generally need to have lived together in a committed relationship for at least 12 months before applying. However, there are some exceptions to this requirement.
Applying for a Partner visa as a spouse or de facto partner involves a two-stage process leading to permanent residency, which is done through a combined application.
Whether you apply for a spouse/de facto visa onshore or offshore depends on your location at the time of application.

Fiancé (Prospective Marriage) Visa
If you are engaged to an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen, you may be eligible for a prospective marriage visa, also known as a fiancé visa. This visa allows you to enter Australia to marry your partner.
To be eligible for a fiancé visa, you must be engaged to an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen, among other requirements. Applying for a Fiancé visa, also known as a Prospective Marriage visa, involves a three-stage process leading to permanent residency.
